Your guide meets you early in the morning at your hotel to set off for Murchison Falls National Park stopping off for lunch first, then visiting Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Park to track on foot semi wild rhinos. After this exhilarating experience we continue on to today's final destination.
Murchison Falls National Park covers some 3,840km2 of wilderness on both sides of the Nile River. It is one of Uganda’s oldest and largest protected areas.. Your accommodation is right on the banks of the river Nile at Murchison River Lodge. You fall asleep to the sound of hippos and awake to a chorus of bird song.

Day 2
Murchison National Park

Today we wake up early and after breakfast set off on our first game drive.
Against the backdrop of magnificent scenery, we search for lions, hopefully hunting or on a fresh buffalo kill. Arguably the most beautiful of cats the leopard is sometimes spotted resting in the trees.
Murchison Falls is also home to the largest population of the Rothchild’s giraffe with huge herds of elephant and buffalo. With your knowledgeable driver/guide we journey the dirt tracks looking for all these wildlife sights.
After game viewing we drive to a spectacular viewpoint situated at the top of Murchison Falls.
After lunch we go for a boat trip cruising on the Nile river to Murchison Falls where the fast flowing river is forced through a 7 meter cleft to fall 43 metres thunderously below. Game viewing on the way can also be excellent.
Return to Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Today we have another morning game drive looking for Murchison's wildlife. Alternatively there is an option of going on a early morning boat cruise to the Nile delta searching for the Shoebill stork, cruising down the calm Nile waters to the papyrus-filled delta as the Nile river enters Lake Albert. In the afternoon you can choose to relax at the lodge or again go out game driving.

Day 4
Drive to the rainforest
Drive to the rainforest
Today we travel from savannah to rainforest. The journey takes us through farmland and by tea plantations with a stopover at Fort Portal to visit the local market and then on to Kibale National Park- the primate capital of the world. You can relax for the rest of the afternoon or maybe go for a swim in the lodge pool overlooking the forest or go for a walk enjoying the views of the beautiful countryside surrounding the lodge.

Day 5

This morning we go in search of chimpanzees in Kibale National Park. The park contains one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest in Uganda. It is home to a lot of forest wildlife, commonly 13 species of primates including chimpanzees. After a short journey to the start point, we meet one of the wildlife rangers who will guide you through the forest looking for the chimps. It is a beautiful experience to walk through the forest itself but of course we are looking for the chimps. Often you hear their excited screams as they interact with each other. You may find them up in the trees but often they come down on to the forest floor, sometimes close by. You get to spend an hour with these amazing animals as the ranger tells you the story and history of the group
After chimp tracking we break for a local lunch. The afternoon activity is a guided walk around Bigodi Swamp which is populated by a high number of monkey and bird species.

Day 6

This morning we have a later start before continue your journey from rain forest to the savanah of Queen Elizabeth National Park. On the way we stop off in the Kasenda crater lake area which are believed to have been formed during volcanic eruptions that occurred 10,000 years ago. You will go on a walk visiting one or two lakes and experiencing the local community. We then continue on our 2hr drive to Queen Elizabeth N.P.
We stop at the lodge to freshen up and then head out for an afternoon game drive, then return to the lodge for our evening meal and overnight.

Day 7

Next morning we head off again into the park for another game drive.
Late morning we return to the lodge for lunch and a little relaxation.
This afternoon we go on a delightful boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward, looking for the elephants, hippos, crocodiles and the abundant birdlife that visits and lives in the water. Later we do a short game drive as we return to the lodge.

Day 8
To Bwindi National park and the Gorillas

After breakfast we set of on our journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park home to the highest population of mountain gorillas in Uganda, harbouring an estimated 400 mountain gorillas—roughly half of the world’s population. After a 4/5 hours drive you arrive in this remote and beautiful area. You arrive at the lodge and have time to relax or go on an optional community walk. Then prepare for gorilla tracking the next morning.

Day 9

In the morning we head to start one of the greatest wildlife experiences in the world. Arriving at the start point we are allocated to our small group that will head of into the forest in search for the mountain gorillas guided by our rangers and assisted by our porters.
Mountain Gorillas were once on the edge of extinction now the population is recovered through decades of effort to preserve these magnificent animals.
A famous naturalist once said " there is more meaning and mutual understanding in exchanging a glance with a gorilla than any other animal I know"
After finding the the gorillas you spend one hour with them. You ranger will lead you through the gorilla’s world, explaining aspects of their ecology and behaviour.
After the gorilla trekking we return to the lodge for lunch and to relax for the rest of the day.

Day 10
To Lake Mutanda

This morning after breakfast we start take the opportunity to experience the original inhabitants of Bwindi forest, the Batwa people are believed to be one of the original inhabitants of the forest, living there for thousands of years as hunter-gatherers. Their deep connection to the land and forest is integral to their identity and culture.
Then a short journey to Lake Mutanda. On arrival at our lakeside lodge you will see arguably one of the most beautiful views in Uganda. On a clear day you can look across the lake dotted with 15 islands to the Virunga volcanoes. After checking in we go on to the lake for a guided dugout canoe trip passing islands and enjoying the views and birdlife and maybe spotting some otters hunting for fish in the clear waters. You return to the lodge for your evening meal and overnight.

Day 11

You wake up today again at beautiful Lake Mutanda. This morning we plan to do a motor boat trip to the only inhabited island, explore the island meet the community and visit the school and church.
As an alternative to this activity there are other optional activities, maybe a 3 hour trek to a beautiful viewpoint or a 6 hour trek to Lake Mulehe, both start with a short boat ride or go kayaking or paddle boarding or relax and go for a swim from the lodges lakeside deck.
Mgahinga National Park is a 90 minute drive away where you could do Golden Monkey tracking.

Day 12
Lake Mburo

Today we leave Lake Mutanda and journey to Lake Mburo about a 5 hour drive.
While on a safari through Lake Mburo National Park, there are lots of things to see within the park. From the rare Elands to the uniquely striped zebras and reintroduced giraffes with leopards also present there is a rich flora and fauna to see in this savanna park.
You will arrive early afternoon and can check in and prepare for a late afternoon game drive.

Day 13
Return to Entebbe
Return to Entebbe
Next morning we set off early for an exhilarating walking safari experience viewing wild game on foot. It is safe to walk in Lake Mburo as there are no lions or elephants and leopards are shy of humans, you will also have an armed guide with you.
After your walk we set off for Entebbe stopping off at the equator for lunch. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel of choice and say his goodbyes. The end to an unforgettable journey.
