Northern Serengeti National Park Game Drive

You will have breakfast at the camp and depart for your full-day game drive in northern Serengeti along the Mara river to witness Wildebeest crossing the river.

The Serengeti landscape is of mesmerizing beauty. While a sizable part of the park consists of seasonally flooded plains, forests, and shrub savannahs, the Serengeti is primarily about one thing, grassy plains.
Being surrounded by millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle is an experience of a lifetime. In their annual migration north, they stampede over vast open plains and plunge into crocodile-infested rivers, all while the predators endlessly hunt them.

After your picnic lunch on the Serengeti plains, you continue your game drive until the evening. You return to the camp as the sun sets over the horizon to wind down next to the crackling bushfire.

Northern to Karatu via Central Serengeti Game Drive

After breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive through the Serengeti as you journey from the Northern region toward Central Serengeti and onward to Karatu. The areas around Lobo and the Grumeti River are rich in resident wildlife throughout the year. Here, you may encounter non-migratory species such as elephants, buffaloes, gazelles, zebras, lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

Game viewing in this region is excellent, allowing you to follow wildlife for extended periods with minimal vehicle traffic—truly one of the Serengeti’s lesser-explored and most rewarding corners. Along the riverbanks, admire magnificent riverine trees and watch for birdlife, including colorful kingfishers and majestic African fish eagles. After a rewarding day of wildlife viewing, continue your journey toward Karatu for your overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater with picnic lunch boxes for an exciting game drive on the crater floor. This natural wonder is the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera and one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife sanctuaries.

The crater is home to an estimated 30,000 large mammals, including buffaloes, lions, elephants, cheetahs, and the rare black rhino, all residing here throughout the year. It also supports a rich diversity of birdlife, making it a paradise for both wildlife and bird enthusiasts.

Later in the day, after the game drive, you will ascend from the crater and proceed to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for your onward journey, marking the end of your safari experience.
