3-Day Whirlwind Lamu Adventure Sands and Swahili Souls

Arrival and exploration

We will meet at a common location in Nairobi, with the option for a pickup from your hotel or the international airport, before transferring to Wilson Airport for our outbound flight to Lamu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel or guesthouse to settle in and freshen up.

Afterward, we will enjoy a traditional Swahili lunch at a local restaurant. Following lunch, we will explore Lamu Old Town, visiting the Lamu Fort, Lamu Museum, and the Swahili House Museum. The tour also includes a visit to the Lamu Donkey Sanctuary, where you can learn about the island’s cherished donkey population.

We will then head back for a relaxed dinner by the beach, savoring fresh seafood and other Swahili delicacies.

A Cultural Discovery & Coastal Adventure

We will begin with a full exploration of Lamu's historic heart, visiting its UNESCO World Heritage sites and wandering through the iconic narrow corridors of the Old Town. Here, you'll delve deep into Lamu's rich Swahili culture and history.

In the afternoon, we'll embark on a scenic boat ride to Manda Island. The adventure continues with plenty of activities, including snorkeling in clear waters and swimming along pristine shores. We'll also take a peaceful walk along the Mangrove Boardwalk at Manda Bay, winding through lush coastal forests.

After lunch, enjoy more leisure time and a dedicated photo shoot amidst the stunning landscapes and golden late-afternoon light, creating lasting memories of Lamu.

As the day winds down, we will head back to our hotel. Freshen up before a delightful dinner, where you can relax and share stories, mesmerized by the unforgettable experiences of the day. Your evening ends with a peaceful overnight stay, lulled by the sounds of the Indian Ocean.

Island Escape & Departure

After breakfast, your guide will meet you for a boat trip to Kiwayu Island, renowned for its pristine beaches and vibrant marine life. Enjoy swimming, beach walks, and snorkeling on its pristine, less-crowded shores, or simply relax on the sand. You may also explore the mangroves or nearby channels.

On the return journey, opt for a stop at the local market for souvenirs like crafts, spices, and textiles.

This concludes your immersion into Lamu's rich culture and stunning archipelago. Afterwards, you'll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival, a vehicle will be waiting to take you to your hotel or international airport for your onward journey.
