1-Day Golden Monkey Trek & Ellen Campus Tour

Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Kigali at 04:30 AM for a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll attend a briefing at 07:00 AM before heading to the trailhead at 08:00 AM to begin your trek. Led by expert guides, the trek takes you through lush bamboo forests, where you’ll observe the monkeys leaping between trees, foraging, and playing. After descending the mountain, you will transfer to Tiloreza Lodge for lunch and a chance to clean your trekking boots. In the afternoon, enjoy an unguided visit to the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, a cutting-edge conservation center dedicated to gorilla research and habitat preservation. Explore the Conservation Gallery, where interactive exhibits, a 360° theater, and a replica of Dian Fossey’s original cabin provide insight into the region’s biodiversity and conservation efforts.
At 4:00 PM, depart for Kigali, arriving at your hotel or Kigali International Airport by 7:00 PM.
