Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable and Drive to Queen Elizabeth NP
Today is the highlight of your tour as you prepare for an unforgettable encounter with the gentle giants, the rare mountain gorillas. For many travelers, this experience is the highlight of this safari. You will trek into the forest in small groups of no more than 8 people, guided by experienced rangers in search of a gorilla family. Along the way, your guide will point out signs of gorilla activity such as nests, dung, and chewed bamboo shoots. The trek takes you through forested slopes, tangled vines, thick bushes, and bamboo vegetation, making the journey as rewarding as the destination. Once the gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend up to one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat.
After the gorilla trekking experience, you will transfer to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. If fortunate, you may spot the famous tree-climbing lions resting in the fig trees along the way. Spend the evening at rest as you await the next days' activity.
