After breakfast, your Kilibeyond Adventure Safari guide will collect you from your lodging. This morning, you will embark on a scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive along well-maintained roads to Tarangire National Park. The park derives its name from the Tarangire River, which serves as the sole water source for local wildlife during the Dry season. Renowned for its impressive elephant populations, the park provides excellent opportunities to witness these majestic creatures gathering by the river. You may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, along with various predators like lions and leopards lurking nearby.

Tarangire boasts the highest variety of bird species found anywhere in the world. As you explore the park, you'll encounter ancient baobab trees, some of which are thought to be over a millennium old. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a designated area within the park. Following your game drive, you will head back to your accommodation.

Day 4

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, there will be an opportunity to stop and take in the breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Crater. Following this, you will travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Serengeti, entering from the south of the park.

The Serengeti is truly remarkable. It is renowned for its vast open grasslands, which provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. While it is home to an abundance of animals, it is best known for its annual great migration. During this migration, large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope move in a consistent pattern, constantly searching for fresh grazing areas. The migration can be observed throughout the year; you just need to know where to look!

After breakfast, you will embark on a drive from Serengeti National Park to the Ngorongoro Crater. As you approach, the crater reveals itself like a hidden realm, encased by towering volcanic cliffs. This untouched wilderness boasts vast savannahs, clusters of acacia trees, and glistening lakes and wetlands. The crater was created when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed two to three million years ago.

Descending into the crater is an adventure in itself. Once you arrive at the crater floor, you will be surrounded by a multitude of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and an impressive array of over five hundred bird species. This unique environment provides an excellent chance to spot the endangered black rhino, often seen grazing in the open grasslands.

After a fulfilling afternoon of exploration, you will make your way to your lodging in Karatu for dinner and a restful overnight stay.
