Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve
In the early morning you’ll drive to Masai Mara National Reserve, one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives relatively undisturbed in the same numbers that once roamed all over Africa’s plains and forests. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal Great Migration of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and their predators. Arrive in time for lunch, then enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Masai Mara National Reserve
Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, we’ll embark on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch in hand. The reserve is famous for its black-maned lions and abundant resident wildlife. It is one of the few places where you can see the “Big Five" during a morning game drive. Many cheetahs are so tame that they seek shelter from the hot sun under vehicles, and several even climb onto the roof to get a better view of potential prey.
For bird enthusiasts, nearly 500 species have been recorded, including 16 species of eagles, many hawks and falcons, six vulture species, eight stork species, four bustard species (including the kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and nine sunbird species.

Known worldwide for its flamingos, the lake is alkaline and recognized as one of the natural wonders of the world. Lake Nakuru is also a rhino sanctuary now, home to over 40 black rhinos and more than 60 white rhinos. The flamingos remain the main attraction, with as many as two million sometimes gathering along the lake’s shore, creating a stunning deep pink band.
