Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve

Directly from the airport or after breakfast from your hotel in Nairobi, depending on your arrival, our driver-guide will report to pick you up and leave for Masai Mara. You'll drive through the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This extensive reserve is part of the Serengeti's vast plains, famously known for its amazing Great Migration of wildebeest, and is home to the Big Five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino. You will have lunch at the camp and relax shortly before proceeding for the afternoon drive.

Explore Masai Mara National Reserve

After the morning breakfast at 6.30 am, you will leave for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch, and the search for great wild animals continues. On the plains are large herds of herbivores grazing, and cheetahs and leopards hiding in their locations. The Masai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians, and reptiles, and over 400 bird species recorded on the reserve. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is, for this reason, a visitor hardly misses seeing the Big Five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino).

Enjoy Masai Mara National Reserve Game Drive

At Masai Mara, you will have an opportunity to drive down to the Mara River, site of the Great Migration, when in season – July through October. The immense herds of wildebeest and zebra are a magnificent sight, matched only by the drama of the predators who lie in wait for them.
At an extra cost, you can enjoy a fascinating visit to a Masai village, where you can gain insights into the rich traditions and heritage of this ancient community. Another optional activity at an extra cost is a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride high above the reserve as the morning light breaks across the golden savannah and witness the herds of wildlife emerging into the day.

Masai Mara - Nairobi

You'll have an early breakfast at the camp, then depart for Nairobi with a game drive en route. You will have a stopover at Narok town, the Maasai city, where you can buy handicrafts and souvenirs. On arrival in Nairobi, we will drop you off at your city hotel or transfer you to the airport for final departure.
