Day 2

Your safari begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park, a beautiful and less crowded park known for its huge baobab trees and large elephant herds. The landscape is a mix of open savannah, seasonal swamps, and scattered acacia woodlands, offering perfect conditions for wildlife viewing. From your safari vehicle, you’ll have a chance to spot giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, lions, and even elusive leopards.

After an early breakfast, you’ll begin your descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, traveling along a steep and narrow road that winds through lush forests. As you reach the crater floor, the landscape transforms into vast savannahs dotted with acacia trees, offering a spectacular backdrop for wildlife viewing. This is one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. The crater is also home to warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and more. After a morning of incredible game viewing and a delicious picnic lunch, you’ll leave the crater in the afternoon and head to Mto Wa Mbu for an overnight stay.
The Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera, was formed millions of years ago after the eruption of a massive volcano, once higher than Kilimanjaro.
