The day will be spent exploring the Mkata Floodplain, One of the best wildlife viewing areas in the park. You may encounter large herds of Elephants, Buffalo, Zebras, And Wildebeest grazing peacefully on the plains. After breakfast, You’ll depart Mikumi and take a scenic drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, Often called the “Galápagos of Africa” due to its high number of endemic species. Unlike the savannah landscapes of Mikumi, Udzungwa welcomes you with lush tropical rainforests, Towering trees, And cool mountain air.
Upon arrival, You’ll meet your local guide and begin a guided hike through the forest, Heading toward the majestic Sanje Waterfalls. This hike typically takes 3–4 hours (round trip) and passes through beautiful, Shaded trails filled with rare plant life, And the calls of forest birds. Along the way, You may encounter endemic primates such as the Udzungwa red colobus and the Sanje mangabey—species found nowhere else on Earth.
