3-Day Mikumi National Park Safari & Maasai Village

Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

You will be picked up at 07h30 at your hotel in Dar es Salaam by our transfer team, which consists of a driver and a tour guide. There will be introductions and a briefing of the tour program. Drive to the park for about 6 hours and 30 minutes, arriving at about 15h00. Enjoy the drive as you pass through local towns such as Kibaha and Morogoro, and rolling hills and rugged landscapes. We will stop for lunch in Morogoro town.

On arrival, you will check in at the lodge and refresh, and then proceed for a cultural visit to the nearby Maasai village. You will return to Tan-Swiss Lodge afterwards for dinner, rest and relaxation.

Mikumi National Park

After breakfast, you will depart the lodge at 07h00 and drive to Mikumi National Park for a full day of game drives in our 4x4 safari Jeep, guided by our experienced tour guide. You will see a lot of animals in this park today, including elephants, lions, and gazelles. Enjoy a hot lunch in the middle of the park at Mikumi Cottages restaurant, with small monkeys outside the restaurant. While on safari, you will also see a variety of bird species as you drive around the park. Our guide will be able to tell you the name of each species that is seen.

After lunch, you will continue with the Mikumi safari experience until sunset, when you will exit the park and return to the hotel to refresh and rest while dinner is prepared. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Tan-Swiss Lodge or similar.

Transfer back to the city

Today, we focus on getting you back to the city safely. After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and board our air-conditioned transfer van, a Toyota Alphard, to begin the journey back to Dar es Salaam. We will stop for a hot lunch en route. You will be dropped off at your selected location, hotel, airport, or ferry station in Dar es Salaam.
