Day 1

Your adventure begins after breakfast, with a drive from your Moshi hotel to Lemosho Gate, where park registration and final gear checks take place. From there, you’ll start your trek through lush rainforest, home to black and white colobus monkeys, exotic birds, and a variety of plant life. The trail is scenic and gradual, allowing you to adjust to the altitude while soaking in the beauty of Kilimanjaro’s lower slopes. After approximately 3-4 hours of trekking, you’ll arrive at Big Tree Camp (Mti Mkubwa), located at 2,800 meters, where dinner will be served and you’ll spend your first night under the stars.
Clients will be picked up from their hotel in Moshi in the morning before the hike begins.

Day 2

Today’s trek takes you from the lush rainforest into the moorland zone. After breakfast at Big Tree Camp, you'll gradually ascend through a beautiful landscape of giant heathers, volcanic rock formations, and open moorland. As you climb higher, the vegetation thins and the air becomes cooler, offering expansive views of the Shira Plateau. The hike takes about 6-7 hours, allowing plenty of time to acclimatize.
You’ll arrive at Shira 1 Camp, located at 3,500 meters, in the late afternoon. Here, you'll relax, enjoy a warm dinner, and prepare for the next day’s adventure. This is a great day to notice how quickly the mountain’s scenery changes as you gain altitude.

Today’s hike begins with a gentle ascent across the expansive Shira Plateau, offering stunning views of Mount Meru and dramatic volcanic landscapes. You’ll pass through alpine meadows and rocky ridges, gaining altitude gradually to aid acclimatization. The route is peaceful and less traveled, enhancing the remote feel of your journey. After several hours of trekking, you’ll reach Moir Hut at 4,200 meters a secluded campsite nestled beneath Lent Hills.
For those with extra energy, an optional acclimatization hike up the nearby ridges is available for an extra cost. Dinner is served at camp as you settle in for the night under the stars.

Day 4
Climb to Lava Tower and Descend to Barranco Valley

You will embark on an exciting hike to the iconic Lava Tower, a volcanic rock formation located at an altitude of 4,600 meters. This challenging climb offers breathtaking views and an opportunity to witness the unique landscapes of Mount Kilimanjaro. After reaching Lava Tower, you'll begin your descent to Barranco Valley, known for its stunning scenery and lush environment. The descent allows for better acclimatization and prepares you for the next stages of your climb.
This day is important for altitude adjustment. Please note, optional activities and accommodation upgrades are available at an extra cost, should you wish to enhance your experience.

Day 5

The trek continues as you depart from Barranco Camp and make your way through the scenic Karanga Valley. This part of the journey offers a stunning contrast of landscapes, with rugged terrain and vibrant vegetation. The hike to Barafu Camp, located at an altitude of 4,673 meters, is challenging but rewarding, providing magnificent views of the surrounding peaks. As you ascend, you'll be able to experience the physical challenge that prepares you for the final summit push.
At Barafu Camp, you will rest and prepare for the summit attempt the following day. The two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo can be seen from this position.

Day 6
Summit Attempt to Uhuru Peak and Descent to Mweka Camp

This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the trek. You’ll start the summit attempt in the early hours of the morning, navigating steep switchbacks and cold temperatures under the stars. Reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters, is a moment of triumph and breathtaking beauty.
After enjoying the views and taking photos at the summit, you'll begin your descent back to Barafu Camp for a short rest and refreshments. You’ll then continue down to Mweka Camp, located in the forest zone, where you will spend the night. This long day tests your endurance but offers unforgettable memories.

Day 7
Descent to Mweka Gate and Return to Moshi
Descent to Mweka Gate and Return to Moshi
After breakfast, you’ll take a final descent through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificates. This marks the official end of your Kilimanjaro trek. At the gate, you’ll meet your vehicle for the return journey to Moshi. Upon arrival in Moshi, you will be dropped off at your hotel. Take time to relax, celebrate your achievement, or explore the town at your leisure.
Airport transfers and additional activities are optional for an extra cost.
