The first day of your safari begins with a scenic morning drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, a beautifully diverse landscape known for its towering baobab trees, sweeping savannahs, and the Tarangire River that supports a wide variety of wildlife.

Upon arrival, you’ll embark on your first game drive through the park, which is especially famous for its large elephant populations often seen in family groups moving between water sources.

Along the way, keep an eye out for other wildlife including lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, warthogs, and a wide range of bird species, as Tarangire is a haven for birdwatchers with over 500 species recorded.

On the second day, after an early breakfast, depart from Karatu and begin your journey toward the iconic Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through changing landscapes, from lush highlands to the open plains that define the Serengeti.

This area is famed for its year-round wildlife activity and is an excellent place to spot predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as large herds of elephants, buffalo, zebras, and wildebeest.

Day three is dedicated to a full day of exploration in the vast Serengeti National Park, giving you ample time to delve deeper into its diverse ecosystems and incredible wildlife.

Begin with an early morning game drive, when predators are most active and the golden light casts a magical glow over the plains. Traverse different areas of the central Serengeti, encountering prides of lions, cheetahs scanning the horizon, grazing herbivores like giraffes and antelope, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras.

After an early breakfast, descend into the crater, which is often referred to as the "Garden of Eden." The caldera, formed by a collapsed volcano, offers a stunning landscape with lush grasslands, soda lakes, and forests.

It's home to a dense concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and black rhinos. Spend the day exploring the crater floor, where you'll have excellent opportunities to spot predators hunting, large herds of wildebeest and zebra grazing, and rhinos often seen grazing in the open plains.

After a picnic lunch by the lake or in a designated area, continue your game drive before ascending back to the rim in the late afternoon.

The Final Day of Safari

The Final Day of Safari

On the final day, you’ll travel to Lake Eyasi, a culturally fascinating destination at the foot of the Ngorongoro Highlands. The area is home to the Hadzabe, one of the few remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in the world.

After arriving, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the Hadzabe and, depending on the day’s schedule, join them on a hunting expedition, learning about their ancient techniques and deep connection to the land.

The tribe still relies on traditional methods, using bows and arrows to hunt small game. You’ll also witness their unique lifestyle and hear stories about their history, traditions, and beliefs.

After this immersive cultural experience, enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake, then make your way back to Arusha in the late afternoon, concluding your unforgettable Tanzanian safari.
