You will take a scenic flight westward to Morondava, a peaceful coastal town with a rhythm all its own. Feel the dry tropical air, spot your first baobabs, and get ready for the wild beauty that awaits.
Morondava is a coastal city located in western Madagascar, serving as the capital of the Menabe Region. Situated at the mouth of the Morondava River, it is approximately 299 km southwest of Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar.

After breakfast, begin your Tsingy exploration with the Petit Tsingy, where limestone needles rise like a forest of stone. The Petit Tsingy offers shorter and less challenging trails compared to the Grand Tsingy. These paths allow visitors to explore narrow corridors, caves, and the dense tropical forest, providing an introduction to the park's unique geology and ecosystems.
The area is home to 53 bird species, 6 lemur species, and various reptiles, including the endemic Brookesia perarmata chameleon. The forested areas between the limestone pinnacles offer a sanctuary for these rare species.
Later, glide silently in a traditional pirogue through the Manambolo Gorge, where ancestral tombs and towering cliffs create a mystical atmosphere. These guided journeys navigate the river's winding path, passing through serene pools, beneath overhanging cliffs, and into caves adorned with stalactites and stalagmites.

The Grand Tsingy is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, many of which are endemic to the region. The park supports 11 species of lemurs, six of which are endemic, as well as over 100 bird species and 45 species of reptiles and amphibians. The unique landscape provides habitats for these species, making it a critical area for conservation.
Within the Grand Tsingy, there are formations known as the "Cathedrals of Stone." These are large, cathedral-like caves and rock formations that have been carved by natural forces over time.
