Day 2

Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience

Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, transfer to Bwindi park headquarters for a detailed briefing on gorilla trekking etiquette, rules, and safety. Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, set out on foot through the dense, misty rainforest, following trails that lead deep into the gorillas’ natural habitat. The trek can last several hours, but once you find the gorilla family, enjoy a full hour quietly observing them feeding, grooming, and playing.

Later, after lunch and some rest, experience a cultural encounter with the Batwa community before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi & an Afternoon Canoe Ride

Wake up to the sounds of Bwindi and enjoy a hearty breakfast at your lodge. Today, travel to Lake Bunyonyi, a scenic drive through Uganda’s stunning highlands. Known as the “Lake of a Thousand Islands,” Bunyonyi has 29 islands, each with unique legends and cultural stories. Check into your lodge and enjoy lunch overlooking the lake.

In the afternoon, take a traditional canoe ride, spotting birds and exploring the islands’ fascinating history. Return for dinner, relaxation, and a peaceful overnight stay.

Cross the border into Kigali and, time permitting, visit local markets or enjoy a farewell meal. Your driver-guide will drop you at Kigali International Airport for your return back home.
