Day 1

Dar es Salaam to Tarangire National Park

Dar es Salaam to Tarangire National Park

Today, your safari begins with a flight from Dar es Salaam to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most captivating wildlife destinations. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by the stunning Tarangire River, which attracts a variety of animals such as giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and buffaloes — along with the lions that follow them, making predator sightings nearly guaranteed.

During the dry season, the river becomes the only water source for miles, drawing large herds of elephants. Tarangire is home to the largest elephant population in Northern Tanzania, especially between June–October and December–March. These gentle giants are often quite curious and may approach safari vehicles, offering you an up-close and safe wildlife experience.

Ngorongoro is one of Tanzania’s most iconic parks, boasting the highest concentration and diversity of wildlife per square kilometer. Expect to encounter buffaloes, elephants, lions, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, and even elusive cats like caracals and servals. If you're fortunate, you may even spot a rare rhinoceros.

You’ll enjoy lunch by the hippo lake before continuing your safari. After the game drive, you will drive back to Arusha to your accommodation, concluding an exciting day in Ngorongoro Crater.
