After breakfast at our centrally located hotel, you’ll start the drive north towards Mapesu Private Game Reserve. You’ll have a few breaks along the way as you leave the main centre of South Africa and head for the bushveld areas on the Botswana border. On arrival at Mapesu, you’ll get out into the reserve for your first taste of the wilderness.

Day 2

Mapesu Private Game Reserve

Mapesu Private Game Reserve

You're up early to make the most of our first full day exploring Mapesu. The open plains of this private reserve are a great opportunity to spot wildlife and perhaps even the cheetah that lies below the trees. Your first coffee stop out in the bush will give you the energy for your return ride. After a relaxing afternoon, you’ll head back out on a drive or walk to see what the evening viewing has to offer.

Day 3

Botswana - Harena River Camp

Botswana - Harena River Camp

You’re up early as you head for Botswana and the Pont Drift border post. You’ll cross by bike and are immediately in the wilds of Botswana. You’ll head along the gravel roads between the game reserves, heading for Harena in Central Tuli. Tonight, you’ll have the Limpopo River as your companion after a longer day's ride.

Day 4

The Harena area of Central Tuli offers exciting wildlife viewing opportunities. The area around the river is loved by the plains game as well as the local lion pride that hunts them. You’ll take it slow as you explore the rocky outcrops and dry river beds. In the afternoon, you'll relax along the banks of the Limpopo river.

Day 5

Harena Trail Camp

After breakfast, you'll make your way north on your way to the remote Harena Trails Camp. An amazing experience of our exclusive trails camp, hidden away in a remote corner of the reserve. With just us for miles around, you’ll enjoy an afternoon under the trees. The evening campfire will be filled with the sounds of lions and hyenas.

Day 6

Harena Trail Camp

Harena Trail Camp

Located further north, Harena Trails camp gives you access beyond the Central Tuli Reserve. You’ll head through the boundaries and to Mathathane. This village is home to many who work and live in the reserve and gives you a taste of authentic Botswana life. After a quick refreshment, you’ll head back into the reserve for a second night at your private trail camp.

Day 7

Koro Island Camp

Koro Island Camp

After a warm cup of coffee, you'll head back south towards the Limpopo River, but this time further west to Koro Island Camp. You’ll pass the salt pans that are loved by elephants, as the open areas make way to the rocky outcrops. You’ll stop for a break at one of the natural springs before you descend to the river and meander along the beautiful paths of the Limpopo to the exclusive Island Camp.

You’ll wake up on our private island in the Limpopo before you head out to explore the Koro conservancy. The elephant paths and jeep tracks take you between the waterholes and viewpoints to your bush breakfast spot. From here, you'll descend back down to the flowing paths beneath the giant Mashatu trees. After a relaxing afternoon, you’re off for a special sundowner on our last Botswana evening.
