This particular day, the day of arrival, is not intended for strenuous activity or immediate commencement of the climb. Day 2

Moshi to Mandara Hut

Day 5

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

The trek from Horombo to Kibo Hut takes around 6 to 8 hours through alpine desert terrain. The landscape becomes more barren as you approach Kibo Peak. At Kibo Hut, climbers prepare for the summit attempt by resting early to have enough energy for the following day.
