Day 1

A day trip to Materuni Waterfalls from Arusha is a popular activity that allows travellers to experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of the region. The trip typically starts early in the morning, with a pickup from your accommodation in Arusha by an English-speaking guide. The drive to Materuni Village takes approximately 2 hours, passing through scenic landscapes and picturesque villages. Upon arrival, you'll register at the village office and begin your adventure with a 40-minute walk to the Materuni Waterfalls.
The Materuni Waterfalls are an impressive 80 meters tall, and the natural pool at the base is perfect for a refreshing swim. Your guide will share stories about Chagga culture, village life, and the local flora and fauna along the way.

After visiting the waterfalls, you'll return to Materuni Village for a traditional Chagga lunch and a coffee tour, where you'll learn about coffee cultivation, processing, and roasting.
