Staying in Karatu gives you the advantage of an early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater the next morning, increasing your chances of spotting wildlife while they are still active.

After breakfast, you will depart for Ngorongoro and descend into the Crater for a game drive, with packed lunch boxes for the day. Later in the afternoon, you’ll be transferred to Arusha town at Clocktower, marking the end of your safari adventure.

Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and one of Africa’s most remarkable natural wonders. It is home to approximately 30,000 large mammals year-round, including buffalo, lions, elephants, cheetahs, and the endangered black rhino. The area also hosts a rich variety of birdlife, such as flamingos, eagles, and buzzards. Thanks to the crater’s enclosed environment, you're likely to see an abundance of wildlife in a relatively short amount of time.
