Arusha to Tarangire NP

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Arusha, heading southwest toward Tarangire National Park, about a 2-hour drive.

Once you arrive, you'll begin a full-day game drive through the park, which is known for its massive herds of elephants, ancient baobab trees, and abundant wildlife including giraffes, lions, zebras, and various antelope species. The Tarangire River, which flows through the park, attracts many animals, especially during the dry season. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the scenic spots inside the park before continuing your wildlife exploration in the afternoon.

After your game drive, you'll exit the park and travel toward the Ngorongoro area to rest and prepare for the next day.

On your second day, you'll set off early to reach the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and the rare black rhino.

The crater is home to a wide range of animals in a unique, enclosed ecosystem that includes open plains, forests, swamps, and a soda lake filled with flamingos. You’ll spend several hours exploring the crater floor, with a picnic lunch near the hippo pool offering a chance to relax amid the incredible scenery.

In the afternoon, you’ll ascend from the crater and begin the drive back to Arusha, arriving in the early evening to end your short but unforgettable safari.
