You'll briefly pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and may stop for photos at the crater viewpoint before continuing into the vast Serengeti plains. After entering the park in the early afternoon, you’ll begin your first game drive en route to your campsite or lodge. Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti when animals are most active.

This is the best time to catch predators on the move and large herds grazing. Depending on the season, you may witness parts of the Great Migration, or you might focus on tracking resident wildlife. Around midday, you’ll begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with more game viewing along the way. You’ll exit the Serengeti and head east, arriving near the Ngorongoro Crater rim by late afternoon.
The landscape gradually changes from open plains to the lush, forested highlands of Ngorongoro.

Ngorongoro to Arusha

Wake up early for a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a unique ecosystem and one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and black rhino.

The crater floor offers incredible wildlife density in a relatively small area, including hippos, hyenas, jackals, flamingos, and vast herds of gazelles and wildebeest. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool and continue game viewing in the afternoon.

After your crater tour, ascend the rim and begin the drive back to Arusha, arriving in the early evening, marking the end of your unforgettable safari.
