Today will be spent at your leisure on the beach in Zanzibar. Many activities are available on site, including diving, kitesurfing, snorkeling, boating, quad biking, and more.
Zanzibar evokes the image of a legendary spice trading post of the past. Arab traders, particularly the Sultan of Oman, quickly recognized the potential of its fertile land and strategic location. Ivory and enslaved people from the African continent also contributed to the trading post’s wealth.
Today, Zanzibar is better known for its white sand beaches, dolphins, and comfortable hotels. Tourism has grown considerably, especially over the last 15 years, but Zanzibar, and especially its people, still live at a pace and in a culture completely distinct from the rest of the world.
