Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide, who will provide a brief introduction to your journey. After this, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kigali, where you will check in and have time to relax and unwind after your travels.
In the evening, you'll enjoy a delicious dinner, then settle in for a comfortable overnight stay, ensuring you are well-rested for the adventures ahead.

Day 2
Chimpanzee Tracking at Nyungwe National Park

You'll wake up early and have breakfast at your lodge before heading for the briefing on chimpanzee tracking at the Nyungwe Forest headquarters. The guides will take you through the rules and regulations to follow while in the forest. Then, you'll head into the forest looking for the chimpanzees. Once you locate them, you'll spend one hour in their presence, taking pictures and enjoying watching them go on with their life in the forest.
Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe National Park also offers an opportunity to spot 12 other species of primates, butterflies, and birds. You may even follow the route with waterfalls and beautiful rocky escarpments, and return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go for a canopy walk, which is one of the top attractions in Nyungwe Forest National Park. The canopy walk allows you to get an aerial view of the park and watch more of the monkeys and birds but from a different angle. After the amazing Canopy Walk, you will return to your lodge.

Day 3

You'll wake up at your leisure, have breakfast, check out of the hotel, and start the journey to Lake Kivu.
Lake Kivu is the largest freshwater lake in Rwanda, extending to the Democratic Republic of Congo. The lake is world-famous for the boiling Methane gas that comes out from underneath. On arrival at your hotel, you will have lunch overlooking the Lake.
In the afternoon, you will be taken for a boat ride to visit some of the islands. Once you are done with the boat ride, you will go back to the hotel and prepare to go swimming in the lake. If you are not: fun swimming, you can simply relax by the lake and admire the beautiful scenery and local people going about their lives.

Day 4
Tour of Lake Kivu and Fishing Villages – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You will wake up at your own time, have breakfast, and prepare to go for a tour to different sites around Lake Kivu, including the fishing villages. For bird watchers, this is the perfect time to spot several resident and migratory species of birds. You will also spot several primates that live in forests on the islands and lake shores, you will also have chance encounters with the locals as they go about their daily activities.
After exploring the lake in detail, you will set off for the Volcanoes National Park in Kinigi, check in at your lodge, and spend the rest of the day resting as you prepare for gorilla trekking the next day.

Day 5

After an early breakfast, you'll head to the Kinigi Park headquarters for a 7:00 AM briefing. Guides and rangers will explain the trekking rules and assign you a gorilla family. You may hire a porter to help with your backpack. The trek through the forest can take 2 to 5 hours, depending on where the gorillas are located. Once found, you’ll spend one magical hour with them in their natural habitat. Along the way, enjoy the beauty of the forest and its wildlife.
After the trek, you'll return to your lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, you'll visit the Gorilla Guardians Village, formerly Iby’Iwacu. This community initiative was created by ex-poachers and now offers a rich cultural experience. You'll enjoy traditional music and dance, learn about Rwandan customs, and take part in local activities. You’ll also have a chance to purchase handmade crafts and souvenirs.

After an early breakfast, you'll head to Volcanoes National Park for a guided golden monkey trek through the bamboo forest. You'll enjoy watching these rare primates as they play and feed in their natural habitat. After the trek, you'll drive to the scenic Lake Ruhondo for a relaxing lakeside lunch and overnight stay, surrounded by beautiful views and peaceful nature.

Departure
You'll wake up at your leisure and prepare for the journey back to Kigali. Upon arrival in the city, you will visit key sites including the local market, the former Presidential Palace, artisan shops, and the Gisozi Genocide Memorial. After the city tour and lunch, you will be transferred to either your hotel or Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
