Upon arrival at Samburu Game Reserve, you'll check in at your lodge or camp and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch. Take some time to relax and soak in the wild beauty surrounding you.
In the late afternoon, head out for your first game drive in this unique reserve. Samburu is famous for its rare northern species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and reticulated giraffe. Keep an eye out for elephants and big cats like lions and leopards that inhabit the area. After your game drive, return to your lodge for dinner. After a hearty breakfast, venture into the Samburu wilderness for a half-day game drive across this rugged, semi-arid terrain. The Ewaso Nyiro River, the life source of the reserve, attracts diverse wildlife, making it an excellent location for photography and sightings. You may encounter elephants bathing, crocodiles basking on the riverbanks, or lions lounging in the shade. Samburu is also a birdwatcher’s haven with over 450 species recorded.
Return to your lodge for a hot lunch and a short rest during the midday heat. Spend the early afternoon relaxing by the pool or enjoying the serenity of the bush from your veranda. In the late afternoon, embark on another game drive, when wildlife becomes active again. With fewer visitors than other parks, Samburu offers intimate and uninterrupted wildlife experiences. After sunset, drive back to your lodge for dinner. Share stories around a fire or simply listen to the night as you prepare for another day of discovery.

Day 3

The drive offers scenic views of Mount Kenya in the distance, with a transition from arid plains to highland savannah. Ol Pejeta is home to the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and houses the world’s last two northern white rhinos. In addition to the Big Five, the conservancy offers unique experiences like visiting the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya. Enjoy an intimate game viewing experience thanks to the conservancy’s limited access policy. After your safari, return to your lodge for a delicious dinner. After breakfast, begin your scenic journey to Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. Along the way, you’ll stop at the Equator in Nyahururu for a photo opportunity and brief demonstration. Next, visit the spectacular Thompson’s Falls, a 74-meter waterfall surrounded by lush greenery for a short photo break. Continue to Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch and check-in at your lakeside resort or lodge.
The afternoon is yours to relax or opt for an optional boat ride across the lake, where you’ll spot hippos, waterbirds, and perhaps giraffes or zebras grazing along the shore. You may also take a nature walk at the nearby wildlife conservancy, a tranquil sanctuary teeming with wildlife. As the sun sets over the lake, enjoy the peaceful ambiance and soft sounds of birds and water lapping at the shores. After a delightful dinner, spend a quiet evening at your lodge, perhaps stargazing or enjoying a drink by the fireplace.

Depart the Masai Mara around 9:00 AM for your drive back to Nairobi, passing through scenic landscapes and small townships. Along the way, enjoy the memories you’ve created and perhaps make a few photo stops.
Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or directly at the airport, depending on your onward travel plans.
