Day 2
Arusha to Tarangire
Arusha to Tarangire
Your Taratibu Adventure Safari guide will collect you from your accommodation after breakfast. You will then drive to Tarangire National Park. This transit drive is approximately 2.5 hours on good tarmac roads. The park is named after the Tarangire River, which runs through it. This "river of warthogs" is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the Dry season.
The park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. There are more breeding species of birds found in Tarangire than anywhere else on the planet! The huge and ancient baobab trees can be seen here. Some of them are said to have lived for more than a thousand years.
Lunch will be at a picnic site inside the park. After your game drive, you will transit to your accommodation in Karatu.

Karatu to Serengeti
After breakfast at 8:30 am, you will drive from Karatu to Serengeti, which takes 6 hours (includes all stops) as it transits through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will stop at the Ngorongoro Crater for a duration of 20 minutes.
Visit a Maasai village (optional, not included in the price) and explore the culture of the great Maasai tribe. They are known for chasing lions of their kill, hunting lions to be considered a warrior, and drinking raw animal blood. Though these traditions are a thing of the past, you can surely learn something (with the exception of drinking blood)!.
Duration: 20 to 45 minutes (many clients opt against it). The entrance fee is $10 to $20 USD.
You will arrive in Serengeti National Park in the late afternoon. Proceed on a game drive in Seronera (Central Serengeti) until late evening. Experience the sunset in Serengeti while having a close view of wild animals. If you're lucky, you'll see a predator hunting or in the act of killing.
