A day trip to Tarangire National Park is a perfect escape into Tanzania’s wildlife and scenic beauty. Departing early from Arusha or nearby areas, you’ll drive for about 2-3 hours to reach the park. Once inside, you’ll begin your game drive through open savannah, swamps, and woodlands dotted with giant baobab trees. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant population, as well as lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and many bird species. You’ll enjoy a packed picnic lunch at a scenic spot, often near the Tarangire River, where animals gather to drink. Once in Serengeti, you’ll enjoy a half-day game drive through the endless plains, where you may see lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and, depending on the season, parts of the Great Migration.
