A day trip to Tarangire National Park is a perfect escape into Tanzania’s wildlife and scenic beauty. Departing early from Arusha or nearby areas, you’ll drive for about 2-3 hours to reach the park. Once inside, you’ll begin your game drive through open savannah, swamps, and woodlands dotted with giant baobab trees. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant population, as well as lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and many bird species. You’ll enjoy a packed picnic lunch at a scenic spot, often near the Tarangire River, where animals gather to drink. Day 2

Mto wa mbuu to serengeti national park

A day trip from Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti National Park is ambitious due to distance but possible with early departure. The journey begins very early in the morning from Mto wa Mbu, heading through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the southern Serengeti gate (Naabi Hill). The drive takes approximately 5–6 hours, passing scenic landscapes and possibly spotting wildlife along the way.

Once in Serengeti, you’ll enjoy a half-day game drive through the endless plains, where you may see lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and, depending on the season, parts of the Great Migration. After lunch at a picnic site, you’ll continue the game drive before starting the return journey or staying overnight in the park.

The journey starts early with a morning game drive in the Serengeti, where you might spot lions, cheetahs, elephants, and large herds of wildebeest or zebras. Upon arrival at the crater, you'll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an afternoon game drive. You’ll enjoy a game drive across the crater floor, exploring its grasslands, lakes, and forests while spotting animals and birds in a unique, enclosed ecosystem.

A picnic lunch is usually taken at a scenic spot like the Hippo Pool. After lunch, you continue with a game drive, then ascend the crater wall in the afternoon.
