Arrival

Day 1
Your day begins with a 5:30am departure from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, you will descend into the crater for a guided game drive through this extraordinary landscape. After the safari, return to Arusha for drop-off between 6:30pm and 7:00pm (pick-up and drop-off locations to be confirmed). A packed lunch and bottled water will be provided.
Often referred to as one of the eight natural wonders of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. Formed over two million years ago, it spans over 19km (11mi) across with 600m (2,000ft) high walls. Within the crater lies a diverse ecosystem of forests, swamps, and grasslands—home to more than 30,000 animals, including elephants, flamingos, black rhinos, lions and leopards. You may also see Maasai herders grazing cattle alongside buffalo and wildebeest, offering a unique blend of wildlife and culture.
