Nairobi – Masai Mara (Overnight Outside the Reserve)

Your driver-guide will collect you in a 4x4 pop-up Land Cruiser for the drive to the world-famous Masai Mara, approximately 270 km from Nairobi, taking around 5–6 hours. The journey takes you through Kenya’s beautiful landscapes, including the dramatic Great Rift Valley, where you can pause to enjoy breathtaking views and photo opportunities. You will arrive at AA Lodge Mara, which is conveniently located just outside the reserve, in time for lunch. The afternoon is yours to relax and unwind after the drive. You may choose to take a stroll around the lodge grounds, enjoy the pool, or simply rest in preparation for the next day’s safari adventure. Dinner will be served at the lodge, and you will spend the night in this comfortable midrange setting, ready for an early start the following morning.

Masai Mara Game Drive – Return to Nairobi

Rise early for check-out and depart the lodge before sunrise to enter the Masai Mara National Reserve for your extended morning game drive. From around 7:00 am until 3:00 pm, you will explore the vast savannahs, where rolling grasslands are dotted with acacia trees and teeming with wildlife. This is your opportunity to spot the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—as well as cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and countless bird species. The morning hours are especially rewarding for sightings, as animals are most active before the midday heat. After a fulfilling half-day safari, you will exit the park and begin the drive back to Nairobi, retracing your route through the Great Rift Valley. You are expected to arrive in the late afternoon, bringing your short but unforgettable safari to a close.
