Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

You'll be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi at 7.30 am and driven through the Great Rift Valley escarpment to the magnificent Masai Mara (270km - approximately 5-6 hours). Lunch is provided. Take an afternoon game drive. Masai Mara National Reserve is a pristine wilderness of haunting beauty. It promises its visitors a profusion of wildlife, prolific birdlife and the unprecedented opportunity of catching up with all the members of the Big Five in one morning. The 1,800sq km of this veteran reserve offers the classic mix of African imagery; miles of lion-gold grasslands, shoals of lilac-misted hills, a meandering river, acres of thorn-bush and mile upon mile of undulating wilderness. Maasai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast, we'll head out for a full day of game drive taking us in search of Africa's Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. The Mara offers fantastic orange-tinged sunsets well worth capturing on camera. Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara, you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffes, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impalas, hartebeests, wildebeests, elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos are found in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but reasonably common. The ultimate action here is no doubt the annual wildebeest exodus, the great migration, from July through October when millions of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of greener grass. Return for dinner and your overnight stay at Enkorok Mara Camp.

Masai Mara National Reserve Back to Nairobi

Enjoy breakfast at the camp followed by check out. You might want to optionally visit a local Maasai Village for a cultural tour at an extra cost. Drive back to Nairobi, arriving at approximately 3:00 pm. You'll be dropped off at your hotel or directly to the airport.
