Day 1

On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative, who will give a short briefing about the safari. Then, you'll proceed to Akagera National Park, arriving in the evening. You'll check into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2

Wildlife Viewing and Boat Ride

Wildlife Viewing and Boat Ride

You'll have an early breakfast and head to the park for an early morning game drive offering you an opportunity to spot a variety of wild animals such as elephants, buffaloes, lions, Masai giraffes, gazelles, impala, baboons, oribi, Butchel’s zebra, topi, bush baby, leopard and bushbuck among others. You'll return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will head out for a boat trip along Lake Ihema, where you will have a closer look at water animals like hippos, crocodiles, and over 525 species of water birds, including the shoebill stocks, papyrus gonolek, and endemics like Jacanas, Ibis, Sandpipers, and Herons. You'll return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you'll begin your scenic journey to Nyungwe Forest, one of Africa’s oldest rainforests. Along the way, you'll dive into Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage with a stop at the King’s Palace Museum in Nyanza, where traditional royal life comes to life, and the Ethnographic Museum in Huye, showcasing the country’s diverse history and traditions. You'll arrive at your lodge in the afternoon and settle in for a peaceful evening surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Along the way, you'll enjoy a cultural and sensory experience with stops at tea and coffee plantations. You'll learn about Rwanda’s thriving agriculture and savor freshly brewed tastings while taking in the beautiful landscapes. You'll arrive near the park in the afternoon and settle into your lodge, surrounded by the peaceful charm of the Virunga mountains.
Your overnight stay will be near Volcanoes National Park.
