Your driver-guide reports to your hotel for the start of the safari, with a departure for a picturesque drive descending the Great Rift Valley and onwards to Maasai Mara, Kenya's famous game reserve. You'll stop briefly en route at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to enjoy the stunning views of an enormous valley system said to be visible from outer space. You'll arrive in Masai Mara in time for lunch. After lunch, you'll embark on an afternoon game drive, which will allow spotting of the magnificent wildlife in the park. Bordering Tanzania, the Mara is in the northern extension of the Serengeti and forms a wildlife corridor between the two countries.

To get some of the best game viewing of the day, an early start is needed to beat the heat of the sun. Wake up early for a sunrise game drive, when wildlife is most active and the plains come alive with predators on the hunt and grazers beginning their day. Return to camp for breakfast and leisure time. In the afternoon, head out for another game drive across the Mara’s vast landscapes in search of lions, elephants, cheetahs, and more. Return to camp for dinner and an evening at leisure.

Day 4

After breakfast, you'll depart from the Mara through the Maasai plains and the Mau escarpments into the floor of the Rift Valley. You'll arrive in the flamingo-fringed Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. You will embark on a comprehensive game drive of this scenic park, including visits to viewpoints which offer superb photo opportunities. Lake Nakuru is one of several Rift Valley lakes, and its ecosystem supports a wide ecological diversity with flamingos (greater and lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals, including the white rhino and buffalo, and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species.
