Depart Nairobi at 7:00 AM after hotel pickup, heading north through Kenya’s central highlands and crossing the equator into the semi-arid wilderness of Samburu National Reserve.
Arrive in time for lunch, and in the afternoon, begin your first game drive. Samburu offers rare treasures: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, and Somali ostrich the famous Samburu Special Five. Watch elephants gather along the Ewaso Nyiro River, their dusty hides glowing in the sunset.
