Pick Up and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On the 1st day of the 4-day Rwanda mountain gorilla and golden monkey safari, you are to arrive in Rwanda using Kigali International Airport. Upon your arrival, you will meet our safari driver-guide, who will give you a short briefing about the safari. Then, you'll embark on a drive north of Kigali to Volcanoes National Park. From Kigali to Volcanoes National Park, it is a drive of about 3 hours. On your way, you will enjoy rolling green hills and the locals. When you arrive in the park, you will check into your lodge, have dinner, and stay overnight.

Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes National Park

You'll begin the day with an early breakfast. Then, you'll depart at 7:00 AM for Kinigi Park headquarters, arriving by 7:10 AM for a briefing and guide assignment.

Your gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park will be led by expert rangers as you track one of the eight habituated gorilla groups. The journey can take 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements.

Upon locating the gorilla family, you will have one hour to observe them up close, witnessing their behaviors and interactions in their natural habitat.

After this unforgettable experience, you will exit the forest and return to your lodge to relax and reflect on the day's adventure.

Golden Mountain Tracking in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, you'll head to Volcanoes National Park for a briefing before trekking into the bamboo forests in search of Golden Monkeys. These lively primates, known for their golden fur and energetic movements, live in large troops and dart effortlessly between bamboo stalks. You'll spend one hour observing their playful interactions before returning to your lodge for lunch.

Twin Lakes Burera & Ruhondo Visit & Drive to Kigali

After an early breakfast, you may choose from optional experiences such as hiking Bisoke, visiting the local cows at Bigogwe, seeing the Dian Fossey Tomb, or hiking the Twin Lakes Burera and Ruhondo.
After these experiences, you will have lunch and then be transferred to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will embark on a short city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Gisozi.
Following the city tour, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your unforgettable safari experience.
