Pick up and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On the 1st day of 4 days Rwanda mountain gorilla and golden monkey safari you are to arrive in Rwanda using Kigali International Airport, upon your arrival you will meet our safari guide/driver who will give you a short briefing about the safari and then embark on a drive north of Kigali to Volcanoes National Park. From Kigali to Volcanoes National Park it is a drive of about 3 hours and on your way, you will enjoy rolling green hills and the locals. When you arrive in the park you will check into your lodge, have dinner, and stay overnight.

Mountain Gorilla Tracking

Begin the day with an early breakfast, then depart at 7:00 AM for Kinigi Park headquarters, arriving by 7:10 AM for a briefing and guide assignment.

Your gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park will be led by expert rangers as you track one of the eight habituated gorilla groups. The journey can take 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements.

Upon locating the gorilla family, you will have one hour to observe them up close—witnessing their behaviors and interactions in their natural habitat.

After this unforgettable experience, you will exit the forest and return to your lodge to relax and reflect on the day's adventure.

Golden Mountain Tracking

After an early breakfast, you'll head to Volcanoes National Park for a briefing before trekking into the bamboo forests in search of Golden Monkeys. These lively primates, known for their golden fur and energetic movements, live in large troops and dart effortlessly between bamboo stalks. You'll spend one hour observing their playful interactions before returning to your lodge for lunch.

Return to Kigali & End of Tour

After an early breakfast, you will check out and begin your journey back to Kigali with your safari guide.
Upon arrival in Kigali, you will embark on a short city tour, with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Gisozi, where you will gain insight into the tragic events of 1994 and Rwanda’s journey toward healing and resilience.
Following the city tour, you will enjoy lunch before being transferred to the airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your unforgettable safari experience.
