Day 1
Nairobi- Masai Mara National Reserve
Nairobi- Masai Mara National Reserve
At 7:30 am, your driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel, residence, or Nairobi airport in a private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser to begin this week-long adventure. You will hit the road for approx 4 hrs, 120 km, and head south to the great Masai Mara National Reserve via Kenya’s central highlands, passing local farms and communities. You’ll make stops along the way to enjoy the views of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. You’ll be entering Masai country, so keep an eye out for local herders tending to their cattle. You should arrive at the park about lunchtime and freshen up at our accommodation, and set out on our first game drive. The rolling hills and dramatic acacia trees will first greet you as you track for lions, leopards, cheetahs, and the over 95 different animal species that inhabit this very rich ecosystem. Towards evening, you’ll head back to our Mara safari lodge to relax, enjoy dinner, and recap our first safari day.

Day 2
Full-day at Masai Mara National Reserve
Full-day at Masai Mara National Reserve
You’ll have an early morning breakfast and then set out to see the morning bring the park alive with light and birdsong. This is a day of unlimited game drives. Just discuss your preferences with your guide, safari how much exploring and how much relaxation time you’d like. Your guide will want to take you to the Mara River for a picnic lunch and to see the hippos and crocodiles inhabiting this special border. During the season of the Great Migration (July – October), this is the crossing site where wildebeests and zebras by the thousands enter the park from the neighbouring Serengeti. It’s an unforgettable spectacle as the multitudes of grazers flow into the Mara only to be met by the awaiting crocodiles, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and other predators. We offer an optional early morning hot air balloon safari over the park and see the great wildlife below, or opt to visit a local Maasai village, learn about their pastoral lifestyle, and buy some of their colourful beaded handiwork.

Masai Mara- Serengeti National Park
Let’s get up early for morning breakfast, check out of the accommodation, and embark on a 6-7 hr drive for the crossing into Tanzania and Serengeti National Park. You'll head to the border town of Isebania and then cross from Kenya into Tanzania. The Serengeti is part of the same ecosystem as the Masai Mara, but it is in these lands that the masses of wildlife are born and raised before trekking over into the Mara in search of taller grasses and more sources of life-sustaining water.
The vast, almost treeless plains of the Serengeti are home to huge numbers of wildlife, not just the thousands of wildebeests and zebras but also great prides of lions and other big cats.

Full-day in Serengeti National Park
You will wake up for an early morning breakfast and get ready to head out for the day's activities. Just like at the Mara, we’ve designed this safari for a full day exploring this magnificent park. You'll enjoy several morning and afternoon game drives. We can’t miss the countless wildebeests here, and depending on the season, you may witness their birthing by the thousands. Later in the year, these animals flow to the Masai Mara, beginning the Great Migration. The Serengeti is home to perhaps the largest number of lions anywhere, but you’ll also be tracking cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, gazelles, elands, impalas, hippos, and the curious and downright amusing warthogs. The vastness and rich displays of wildlife at the Serengeti never fail to impress. After a very full day of animal watching, you’ll head back to our safari lodge for dinner and evening relaxation for the next day's activities.

Serengeti- Ngorongoro Crater
After an early morning breakfast, you’ll check out of the accommodation and head out on a journey of a 3- 4 hour drive for a full day traveling from one iconic ecosystem to another in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
On the way, you’ll make a stop at Oldupai Gorge, the most noted anthropological site in the world where they discovered thousands of fossilized remnants of early man’s activity —an incredible record of tools and artifacts showing our evolution from millions of years ago. You’ll arrive at the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact volcanic caldera on the planet. Descending the crater wall in our 4 x 4, you’ll enter a thriving environment of big cats, elephants, rare black rhinos, and even dense birdlife, like pink flamingoes in the area’s marshlands. You’ll enjoy lunch on the crater floor with more game drives, and in the evening. You’ll head up the volcano wall to enjoy a sunset at the crater’s rim before retiring back to our accommodation for dinner and rest.

Ngorongoro- Lake Manyara National Park
If you rise early, you'll have breakfast, check out of accommodation and head out so that we can be treated to a spectacular sunrise at the crater’s rim and thereafter embark on a 1 and a half hrs drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara is not a large park, but it is known for its beauty and, of course, the lake itself. Colour is a key element here – the blue of the lake contrasts with the thousands of feathery pink flamingoes dressing its shores. It’s an iconic sight, as many in Africa, and certain to enchant. The park is also famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions, a fascinating evolutionary adaptation. Look for them overhead, resting or scanning for prey from their perch up in the trees. You’ll enjoy dinner at our Lake Manyara lodge and have an overnight much much-anticipated rest.

Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha or Nairobi
You will get up early morning, have a delicious breakfast, and check out of the lodge before we head to this pretty park that's even more serene and attractive in the early morning light. You’ll take another game drive to soak up the scenery, colour, and perhaps some game like impala, gazelle, hippo, giraffe, and baboon before embarking on the journey to Arusha. After arrival in Arusha, you choose to do the following to be dropped off at your Arusha hotel, which can be arranged at an extra cost, Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport, or choose to return to Nairobi in Kenya. A full week filled with savannahs holding lions, leopards, and cheetahs, and an extinct volcano home to an assortment of wildlife, plus flamingoes by the thousands. Too many unforgettable memories to sort through at once. It will take time to absorb everything you’ve seen.
