You’ll be picked up from Arusha town or Kilimanjaro International Airport and comfortably transferred to Moshi town, a peaceful and scenic location often referred to as the gateway to Mount Kilimanjaro. Nestled at the foot of Africa’s highest peak, Moshi offers stunning views, a relaxed atmosphere, and serves as the main hub for climbers preparing to ascend the mountain. It’s also a great spot to unwind, explore local culture, and get ready for your upcoming trekking or safari adventure.

Day 2

After breakfast in Moshi, you'll be transferred to Machame Gate, where your Kilimanjaro adventure via the Machame Route begins. Once registration and entry formalities are complete, the hike starts with a gentle walk along a 4x4 track, gradually leading into a lush rainforest. After about an hour, the road ends and the footpath winds deeper into the dense, misty forest. Along the way, you may hear or spot a variety of birdlife high in the canopy, and with luck, encounter black and white colobus monkeys or sykes monkeys in the trees and undergrowth. The trek is long but not steep, typically taking between 5 to 7 hours to reach Machame Camp, which sits above the forest in the heather zone. On clear days, you'll be rewarded with views of the dramatic Shira Ridge and even the distant summit of Kilimanjaro. the chores to assist on camp are Assist in pitching and packing tents, Organize and pack personal gear daily, Fetch and help purify water, Keep camp tidy.

Day 3

Wake early to a steaming cup of tea of coffee served in your tent, and then after breakfast, begin up the steep track through a savannah of tall grasses, and trees of giant Heather and Erica. The clouds should clear for a beautiful view of the Western Breach and the glaciers atop which mark the summit; Uhuru Peak. Scramble around large boulders as you enter the moorland zone, marked by the bizarre lobelia and senecio plants, and volcanic rocks draped with lichen beards which protect wild alpine flowers growing at their bases. You’ll reach camp after descending a small valley and crossing a brook, then ascending up onto the Shira Ridge, after a total of about 4 to 5 hours of trekking.

Day 4

Continue climbing steadily across long ridgelines in the high desert for about four hours before stopping for lunch at around 14,500 feet (4,420 meters). After the break, you’ll head toward Lava Tower, a striking 300-foot volcanic formation that marks an exposed mountain pass at 15,000 feet (4,600 meters). In the afternoon, begin your descent down a steep path into the dramatic Barranco Valley. Barranco Camp sits on a wide, flat area surrounded by towering valley walls and the massive Kibo peak. Above the camp, shimmering hanging glaciers catch the sunlight, while unusual alpine vegetation like the giant groundsels (Senecio kilimanjari) and Giant Lobelia create a surreal landscape. The total trekking time for the day is approximately 6 to 7 hours.

Day 5

On this challenging summit day, you’ll begin trekking around midnight in freezing temperatures. After a tough 6-hour climb, you’ll reach Stella Point on the crater rim, then continue for about an hour to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After a short time at the summit, you’ll descend to Barafu Camp for a brief rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp for the night. Total trekking time ranges from 12 to 17 hours.

Day 6

Descend straight to the gate (2-3 hours), where you’ll have lunch and will be awarded climbing certificates. On arrival at the gate you will have lunch, and then will be transferred transferred back to Moshi to rewind.
