Your tour starts with a morning pickup from your hotel or Kigali International Airport by your professional English-speaking driver guide. After a short briefing, you'll embark on a scenic 2.5-hour drive northwards through Rwanda’s lush countryside to Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered golden monkeys and mountain gorillas.
Upon arrival, you’ll check in at Isange Paradise Resort, a comfortable midrange lodge with excellent views of the Virunga Volcanoes. Spend your afternoon relaxing at the lodge or exploring the nearby Musanze town, and enjoy a delicious dinner while preparing for your first trekking experience the next morning.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, you'll proceed to the Kinigi Visitor Center for a briefing on golden monkey trekking. These energetic and endangered primates are unique to the Virunga volcanic region and are a delight to watch as they leap from bamboo stems and forage on the forest floor. The trek usually lasts 2–3 hours and is relatively gentle, making it accessible for most fitness levels.
After the trek, return to the lodge to refresh and enjoy lunch before beginning the cross-border transfer into Uganda. You’ll pass through the Katuna border post The journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park takes approximately 3–4 hours, with scenic views of terraced hills and the dramatic southwestern Ugandan landscape.
Upon arrival, check in at the charming Lodge, perched in the heart of the gorilla trekking region. Relax for the evening and enjoy a hearty dinner in preparation for the unforgettable day ahead.

The highlight of your tour awaits. After an early breakfast, head to the Rushaga sector park headquarters for a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You’ll be assigned to a gorilla family and guided by experienced trackers into the thick, misty jungle of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Gorilla trekking can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas' location. Once located, you'll spend up to one hour observing these majestic creatures as they feed, groom, and play an awe-inspiring experience considered one of the most profound wildlife encounters on earth.
After the trek, then begin your drive back to Kigali and you will have lunch enroute, a journey of approximately 4–5 hours. You’ll arrive in Kigali in the evening, marking the end of your short yet rich Uganda Rwanda safari.
