Lake Bunyonyi
Lake Bunyonyi
Transfer by Road, Kigali to Lake Bunyonyi. Everything has been planned and organized, and now it's time to enjoy and start your journey with us. Everybody's favorite pre- or post-gorilla tracking chill-out spot is Bunyonyi, a gorgeous lake hemmed in by steep cultivated slopes typical of southwestern Uganda. Relax on the beach with a cold beer, enjoy a tasty curry made with local freshwater shrimps, ramble or bird watch through the surrounding countryside, or explore the islands by boat. Our starting point for exploring Rwanda's capital, Kigali. This attractively hilly city combines a distinctively Rwandan flavor with all the modern comforts an international traveler requires.
Whether you want to chill out at the waterside swimming pool, paddle a free canoe out onto the lake, or relax in a contemporary-styled room with a unique cave-like bathroom, Birdnest Resort is the most prestigious hotel on Bunyonyi. Its breezy terrace restaurant has one of the most imaginative menus in Uganda.

There’s also a lake filled with wading birds, plenty of olive baboons, and dense forests that make you feel that exciting animals could emerge from the trees at any moment. It’s a wonderful chance to mark the transition between the lower plains and the Crater Highlands (with Ngorongoro Crater) away to the west. Cultural tour, Maasai Village.
