As you descend onto the vast plains of the Central Serengeti, wildlife sightings begin almost immediately. This region, known as Seronera, is the heart of the park and boasts some of the highest concentrations of wildlife year-round. Expect to encounter prides of lions, herds of elephants, giraffes, buffalos, and possibly elusive leopards and cheetahs. The Central Serengeti is characterized by its wide open savannah, dotted with granite kopjes where predators often lounge. As the sun sets, you’ll head to Serengeti Classic View Camp, where a warm meal and a comfortable tent under the starlit sky await.

Today, the journey continues as you drive from Central to Northern Serengeti, following the path of the Great Wildebeest Migration. This route offers spectacular game viewing as you transition through varying ecosystems—from the open plains of Seronera to the rugged woodlands and rolling hills of the north. The Northern Serengeti is famous for the Mara River, where dramatic and heart-pounding river crossings take place as thousands of wildebeest and zebras brave crocodile-infested waters in their quest for greener pastures. Along the way, your guide will point out a variety of wildlife, including hippos in the river, elephants in the forested areas, and likely predators lurking nearby. This region is quieter and more remote, offering a truly wild and intimate safari experience. In the evening, you’ll settle into Kontiki Serengeti Camp, a serene and well-positioned camp near the migration corridor.

The Central Serengeti, once again, welcomes you with its iconic scenery of golden grasslands, acacia trees, and wildlife in abundance. Enjoy an afternoon game drive, tracking big cats, antelope, and more in the area’s well-known valleys and watering holes.
