Depending on your arrival time at Kigali Airport, you will meet with our driver guide who will transfer you to a hotel. You will check into the hotel freshen up and later have dinner. Your guide will brief you about the safari and prepare for the long waited 6 days best of Rwanda and Uganda Safari.

Day 2

After having breakfast, you will start your Kigali city tour, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which serves as the resting place for over 250,000 victims of the genocide, where over one million Rwandans, predominantly Tutsis, were brutally murdered by Hutu extremists. After that, you will have a visit to Kigali Central Market. You will have lunch and later take a 3-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park and have Iby'iwacu cultural tour the guardian of gorillas. You will see their traditional dances, listen to their music see how they live among others. After this cultural encounter, you will check into the hotel and prepare for the magical golden monkey trekking.

Day 3

Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Bwindi

Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Bwindi

You will have an early morning breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts of golden monkey trekking. You will join a group of other trekkers with the ranger guide who will lead you to search for the playful golden monkeys in the bamboo forest of Virunga Volcanoes. After locating them, you will spend an hour with them observing as they are playing on top of bamboo trees, feeding, as they pick young bamboo leaves from the tips of the trees. After this incredible experience, you will return to the hotel, have lunch and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast, have packed lunch and snacks. Then, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on how gorilla trekking is conducted. After that, begin your eagerly anticipated forest walk in search for mountain gorillas in their natural environment. Expect to see other mammals and wildlife as you go through the forest trails such as forest elephants, bush pigs, forest hogs, duikers, olive baboons and several bird species among others. In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, there is a 98% chance of seeing gorillas.
After locating them, you will spend an hour observing, tracking as you study and learn their behaviors like feeding, nursing and how they take care of their babies. Make use of your camera so as not to miss out on this memorable experience by taking as many photos and videos as you may wish. After gorilla trekking transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park Ishasha sector in search of tree climbing lions.

Enjoy your early morning breakfast, drive through the southern Ishasha sector of the park in search for the magical tree climbing lions. These rare tree-climbing lions are found only in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, and the best location to see these amazing creatures, therefore, you will be amazed at seeing these lions resting on or under Fig tree branches especially in the afternoon. Other wildlife species to see in the adventurous savannah grasslands include topis, Uganda kobs, elephants, buffalos and several primates. Proceed with your journey to the northern sector for afternoon boat cruise at Kazinga Channel. The 2-hour boat cruise across the scenic Kazinga channel, a 36-kilometer canal that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. Along the channel banks, you will see both land and water mammals such as hippos, Nile crocodiles (thermo-gaping) along the banks and several bird species like Fish Eagle, African Jacana, African Skimmer, Yellow-billed Stork.

Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura- transfer to Kigali

After your early breakfast, head to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trekking with a guided guide. This will take between 1 to 4 hours, depending on where chimpanzees slept. This reserve is a home to over 30 chimpanzees. After trekking, you will transfer to Kigali to go back home.
