Afternoon Game Drive & Maasai Cultural Visit

Your safari adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or residence in Dar es Salaam. Enjoy a scenic 5–6 hour drive through the countryside and past the Uluguru Mountains before arriving at Mikumi National Park in time for lunch at your lodge. After a short rest, head into the park for your first exciting afternoon game drive. Explore Mikumi’s wide-open floodplains, home to elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and occasionally lions or leopards. After the drive, you’ll visit a nearby Maasai village for an enriching cultural experience witness traditional dances, visit their huts (bomas), and learn about their way of life. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Full-Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

Wake up early for a full day of wildlife viewing in Mikumi National Park. After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive through diverse habitats including savannahs, acacia woodlands, and waterholes frequented by hippos and crocodiles. Keep your camera ready as you track herds of buffalo, antelope, and elephant, and watch for predators like lions resting in the shade. A hot or picnic lunch will be served inside the park to maximize your time in the bush. Continue your game drive into the afternoon for more chances to spot elusive species and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the African wilderness. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Upon arrival in the late afternoon, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or airport, marking the end of your memorable 3-day Mikumi safari adventure.
