Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide, who will brief you about your adventure before setting off on a guided Kigali city tour. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to gain insight into Rwanda's history, then explore vibrant local markets and craft shops where you can experience the country's rich culture and purchase handmade souvenirs. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before departing for Akagera National Park, Rwanda's only savannah national park. The scenic drive takes you through picturesque hills, rural villages, and beautiful countryside. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the evening relaxing while enjoying views of the surrounding wilderness in preparation for the exciting safari activities awaiting you the following day. After an early breakfast, head into Akagera National Park for an exciting morning game drive across its open plains, woodlands, and wetlands. Keep an eye out for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, lions, and, with luck, leopards and rhinos. After lunch, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you can observe large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles, and a remarkable variety of water birds, including the African fish eagle. Following the cruise, depart for the Rwanda–Uganda border and complete immigration formalities before continuing to Lake Mburo National Park. Once the chimpanzees are found, spend one unforgettable hour observing their behavior in the wild. Return to the lodge for lunch before visiting the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, famous for its rich birdlife, monkeys, and scenic boardwalk trails. Later, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through picturesque crater lakes and rolling hills.
