Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial and enjoy a Kigali city tour. After lunch, your driver will take you to Musanze, a scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive. Upon arrival, you will visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, where you will learn more about gorilla conservation and ongoing research efforts.

Day 2

Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali

Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing at 7:30am. You will then be assigned a gorilla family and begin your guided trek through the dense forest of the Virunga Mountains. The hike may take between two and five hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you find them, spend a magical hour observing their behaviour up close – a truly humbling and unforgettable experience.

Return to the lodge for lunch, then begin your drive back to Kigali, arriving in the late afternoon.
