After breakfast, you’ll set off on a scenic 2.5-hour drive from Kigali to Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch and check in at your lodge. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in Rwanda’s vibrant heritage with a visit to the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where traditional music, dance, and storytelling bring local culture to life.

Gorilla Trekking & Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing at 7:30 am. You’ll then be assigned a gorilla family and begin your guided trek through the dense forest of the Virunga Mountains. The hike may take 2 to 5 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you find them, spend a magical hour observing their behavior up close — a truly humbling and unforgettable experience.

Return to the lodge for lunch, then begin your drive back to Kigali, arriving in the late afternoon.
