Your adventure begins with a warm welcome in Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital. After pick-up, enjoy a city tour that includes a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local markets, and cultural centers, offering insight into Rwanda’s history and resilience. After lunch, if time allows you will visit the two twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo if not you will begin your scenic drive northwest through rolling hills to Volcanoes National Park, home of the endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon or early evening, where you can check in, relax, and enjoy dinner while preparing for an exciting primate encounter the next day.

Day 2
Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Bwindi

Start your day early with breakfast by 7:00am, thereafter meet up with the guide for abrief on the activities to be done, by 8:00am you start heading into the Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey tracking. These energetic and rare primates are found only in the Virunga Mountains at the edge of the park in the bamboo forests were the ground is relatively flat, you will spend an hour with these intresting creatures, this experience offers a lively and unique wildlife encounter. After the trek, return to the lodge, freshen up, and have lunch before crossing into Uganda via the Cyanika or Katuna border, this comes with the beautiful scenary of the rolling hills along the way. Continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a lush UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its gorilla population. Arrive in the evening, check into your lodge, and relax in preparation for the once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trek.

Day 3

After an early breakfast, head to the Bwindi park headquarters for a briefing before setting off into the forest for your gorilla trekking experience. The trek may take between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family, and you’ll spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat, its best if we carry our packed lunch which will be provided since one cant determine how long the trek will take, then after we depart for the serene Lake Bunyonyi Known for its beautiful islands and tranquil setting, this lake is one of the deepest in africa (ranked 2nd at 900m deep). it’s the perfect place to unwind and considered safe for swimming.

Return to Kigali
Return to Kigali
Enjoy a peaceful morning by the lake with breakfast overlooking the calm waters of Lake Bunyonyi. Afterward, begin your journey back to Kigali, traveling through the scenic highlands of southwestern Uganda. Cross the border into Rwanda and enjoy optional stops for souvenirs or local crafts. Arrive in Kigali in the afternoon or early evening, with drop-off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport depending on your onward travel plans. This marks the end of your unforgettable 4-day safari experience, rich with wildlife encounters, cultural insights, and breathtaking landscapes across Rwanda and Uganda.
