Tanga to Mikumi National Park

Our professional guide will pick you up from Tanga at 8:00am for the scenic 8–9 hour drive to Mikumi National Park. En route, you will stop in Morogoro to enjoy a hot lunch before continuing the journey. You will arrive in the late afternoon and head straight to your accommodation at Camp Bastian Mikumi. On the way to the lodge, enjoy sightings of wildlife outside the park like giraffes, monkeys, impalas, antelopes, and zebras which are often seen. You will stay in comfortable chalets, where dinner, rest and relaxation await.

Mikumi National Park

After breakfast at Camp Bastian Mikumi on the second day of your adventure, we set off on a full-day game drive through Mikumi National Park. Known for its wide, open plains, Mikumi offers excellent visibility for spotting a variety of wildlife. Look out for lions, elephants, buffalo, impalas, zebras and many other incredible species. Enjoy a picnic-style lunch at one of the scenic campsites in the park. In the late afternoon, we return to the lodge for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Mikumi National Park to Tanga

Sadly, your Mikumi adventure comes to an end. At around 9:00am, you will begin the journey back to Tanga. But the wildlife experience is not quite over yet. Keep an eye out along the way because a giraffe may just give you a final wave goodbye! After the 8–9 hour drive, you will arrive in Tanga and be dropped off at either your hotel or the airport, depending on your travel plans. If you are catching a flight, please inform us of your departure time in advance so we can ensure a timely return.
