Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Upon your arrival at the airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide, who will brief you on your exciting safari adventure. Then, set off on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its towering baobab trees, massive elephant herds, and captivating landscapes. Upon arrival, enjoy a thrilling game drive where you might spot elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. As you explore, soak in the diverse scenery, from riverbanks to open plains. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park, offering a perfect break in nature.
In the late afternoon, depart Tarangire and continue to your lodge in Karatu, nestled in a peaceful setting with views of the surrounding highlands. Arrive in time for a delicious dinner and an evening of rest and relaxation, preparing for the next day’s adventures.

Day 2

Karatu to Lake Eyasi

Karatu to Lake Eyasi

After an early breakfast, journey to the enchanting Lake Eyasi, a remote soda lake at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment, about 1.5 hours from Karatu. This hidden gem is rich in cultural and natural wonders, offering an authentic glimpse into Tanzania’s heritage. Spend the day engaging with the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. The Hadzabe, among the last hunter-gatherers in Africa, will demonstrate their traditional hunting and survival techniques, while the Datoga will share their blacksmithing and pastoral customs. Bird lovers will enjoy sightings of flamingos, pelicans, and other waterbirds along the lake's edge. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the landscape.
After the cultural experience, return to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay at Eileen’s Trees Inn.

After an early breakfast, set off for the majestic Ngorongoro Crater, often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” Located just a short drive from Karatu, this UNESCO World Heritage Site promises an unforgettable safari experience. Descend into the crater for a half-day game drive, where you'll have the chance to spot the Big Five—lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and leopard—along with flamingos and other wildlife. Your guide will share fascinating insights about the crater’s unique ecosystem and history. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife. In the early afternoon, ascend the crater walls for one last panoramic view before beginning your drive back to Arusha. Depending on your travel plans, you will be dropped off either at your hotel in Arusha or directly at Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport.
