Day 2

After an early breakfast, you’ll depart Arusha and head towards Tarangire National Park (approximately 2–3 hours drive). Known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire offers fantastic game viewing. As you enter the park, you’ll begin your game drive along the Tarangire River, a vital water source that attracts wildlife, especially in the dry season. This park is a haven for elephants, with herds often numbering in the hundreds, and you’ll also spot lions, giraffes, zebras, and a wide variety of bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before continuing your exploration. In the late afternoon, return to your tented camp for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart Northern Serengeti for Ngorongoro Crater (approximately 3–4 hours drive). Once you arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater rim, you’ll stop for breathtaking views of the caldera before descending into the crater for your half-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is often called the “Garden of Eden” because of its stunning beauty and the high concentration of wildlife that resides within it. This is one of the best places to see the Big Five all in one location, including black rhinos, which are rare to spot elsewhere in Tanzania.
