Today you journey north to the striking landscapes of Samburu National Reserve—a region known for its rugged beauty and rare wildlife. Arrive in time for lunch at your camp or riverside lodge. In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive in search of the “Samburu Special Five”: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and the long-necked gerenuk. The Ewaso Nyiro River sustains life here, drawing elephants, lions, leopards, and a wide array of birds.

Spend the full day exploring Samburu’s wild beauty. Go on early morning and late afternoon game drives when wildlife is most active. After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya’s best spots for seeing black and white rhinos, as well as massive flocks of flamingos (seasonal). Stop for lunch en route or at the lodge upon arrival. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive through this compact yet wildlife-rich park, where you might also spot lions, leopards, buffalo, waterbuck, and rare Rothschild giraffes. Visit the Baboon Cliff for sweeping views of the lake and surrounding plains. Overnight at a comfortable lodge within or near the park.

If visiting during the Great Migration (July–October), you may witness dramatic river crossings and predator-prey interactions. A perfect destination to end your adventure on a high.

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Nairobi—either by road or a short scheduled flight (recommended for convenience). Upon arrival in Nairobi, enjoy a late lunch or shopping stop (time permitting), before your transfer to JKIA for your international flight home, filled with memories of Kenya’s landscapes, wildlife, and warm hospitality.
