Today you journey north to the striking landscapes of Samburu National Reserve—a region known for its rugged beauty and rare wildlife. Arrive in time for lunch at your camp or riverside lodge. In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive in search of the “Samburu Special Five”: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and the long-necked gerenuk. The Ewaso Nyiro River sustains life here, drawing elephants, lions, leopards, and a wide array of birds.

After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya’s best spots for seeing black and white rhinos, as well as massive flocks of flamingos (seasonal). Stop for lunch en route or at the lodge upon arrival. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive through this compact yet wildlife-rich park, where you might also spot lions, leopards, buffalo, waterbuck, and rare Rothschild giraffes. Visit the Baboon Cliff for sweeping views of the lake and surrounding plains. Overnight at a comfortable lodge within or near the park.
