On the first day in Ethiopia, you will get familiar with Addis Ababa through a city tour. You'll spend the day at the National Museum of Ethiopia, the Ethnographic Museum, Unity Park, as well as Merkato, the largest open-air market in Africa. Nightlife tours of Addis Ababa are optional for an extra cost.

Day 2
Drive from Addis Ababa to Arba Minch
Drive from Addis Ababa to Arba Minch
Most of the day will be spent driving south to Arba Minch. You will stop at Tiya Stelae field, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and an archaeological site from an ancient Ethiopian civilization. On the road, you'll stop for camels, goats, cows, fruit, and coffee.

Day 3

After breakfast, you'll take a boat trip on Lake Chamo in Nechisar National Park. Lake Chamo is known for its large number of Nile crocodiles basking in the sun, bathing hippos, and birdlife. In the afternoon, you'll start the drive to Jinka, where you'll stay overnight.

Day 4

The day starts with a visit to the Mago National Park, where the Mursi people live. Today, you'll have a chance to explore our first region of the South Omo Valley. We stop to admire the powerful Omo River at great viewpoints and also get a small insight into the way of life of the Mursi people. Here, you have a chance to see how the lip plates and oversized jewelry that the older Mursi women are known for wearing are made. You'll end the day in Turmi, the homeland of the Hamer peoples.

Day 5
Drive Turmi to Karo back to Turmi
Drive Turmi to Karo back to Turmi
The day starts with a visit to a Karo village. The Karo people are known for their unique body and face painting traditions, which you'll be able to try. On the way back to Turmi, you'll visit a traditional market to see all the wares made and sold by local Omo Valley tribespeople. You'll finish the day with one of the most recognizable groups of the Omo Valley, the Hamer. Depending on the season, there may be special Hamer events such as Evangadi and/ or bull jumping in and around Turmi.

Day 6
Drive from Turmi to Konso
Drive from Turmi to Konso
Today, you'll drive to Omorate to meet the Dassanech people. The Dassanech are known for their semi-nomadic lifestyle and musical talent. They live very close to the northwestern border of Kenya near Lake Turkana. The community straddles both sides of the border, but you take a canoe across the Omo River and visit a group of Dassanech on the Ethiopian side. After you'll drive to Konso, interacting with the Erbore people on the way.

Day 7
Drive from Konso to Arba Minch and Fly to Addis Ababa
Drive from Konso to Arba Minch and Fly to Addis Ababa
Today, you'll do your last village visit to meet the Konso people. They are known for their stone terraces and many cultural traditions, such as funerary customs and wood carvings. After this visit, you'll drive to Arba Minch Airport for a return flight to Addis Ababa. You'll enjoy a farewell dinner and cultural entertainment before flying home.
