After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, one of Africa’s most dramatic wildlife destinations. Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a game drive inside the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The crater is home to an extraordinary density of animals, lions, hyenas, hippos, flamingos, zebras, wildebeest, and the rare black rhino. After breakfast, journey across the Ngorongoro Highlands toward Serengeti National Park. You’ll enter the park via Naabi Hill Gate, with a scenic game drive en route. Central Serengeti is famous for its year-round game viewing, especially of big cats—cheetahs, leopards, and lions. Expect to see plenty of wildlife including elephants, hippos, giraffes, and large plains of zebra and wildebeest. You’ll arrive at your mid-range tented camp in time for sunset and dinner under the stars.

Today’s drive takes you to the Northern Serengeti, following the wildlife migration route. This remote section of the park, near the Mara River, is where the dramatic wildebeest river crossings occur (typically July–October). Enjoy a full-day game drive through varied terrain, from rolling hills to riverbanks—home to crocodiles, hippos, elephants, and large predator populations. Arrive at your tented camp near the river and enjoy an evening of campfire and storytelling.

Serengeti National Park – Drive Back to Arusha

After an early breakfast, you’ll begin your overland journey back to Arusha. This drive takes you out of the iconic Serengeti plains, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, lush Karatu highlands, and the scenic Great Rift Valley.

Along the way, enjoy your final moments of game viewing as you exit Serengeti—spotting wildlife like giraffes, elephants, and possibly big cats lounging near the roadsides. A picnic lunch will be served on route at a designated stop, giving you a relaxing break during the journey.

The drive from Serengeti to Arusha typically takes 8–9 hours, depending on wildlife sightings and road conditions. You'll arrive in the late afternoon or early evening.

Upon arrival in Arusha, your guide will drop you off at your hotel or at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure.
